BE THE CHANGE BLOCK THREE SESSION SEVEN - GROTOWSKI WITH KAERIDWYN EFTELYA
Fabulous workshop on Grotowski with Kaeridwyn Eftelya.
An intensive physical warm up covering the main tenents of Grotowski's practice led to a piece of ensemble work using text from Shakespeare's The Tempest.
Big thank you to @kaeridwyneftelya

Kaeridwyn Eftelya is a Canadian theatre artist based in London. Her work is based in physical theatre and ensemble work, emphasising the primacy and dynamics of the body in storytelling and character exploration.
Kaeridwyn trained at Tooba Physical Theatre Centre in Canada, with a strong foundation in Grotowski-based acting. She has since travelled the world making theatre - her work as a performer has taken her to India, touring the dance-theatre show kindling, then directing and performing in collaborative creation, The Little Wanderer, a physical theatre, live music and puppetry show about the nature of home. She subsequently founded the Unicorn Collective to make site-specific theatre in Auroville, India.
Now living in London, Kaeridwyn has deepened her work in physical theatre, training further with veterans of the Polish laboratory theatre scene such as Emma Bonnici (Song of the Goat, Teatr ZAR, Singing As Life Practice), Anna-Helena McLean (Gardzienice, ACT). She recently completed a Masters’ in Applied Theatre, focusing on how creative practice and ensemble techniques could be used with the non-human world, leading sessions on Hackney Marshes. She continues to make work with humans too, most recently in the original show, Worlds Apart: A Tale from Yener Velt, a story of two sisters finding themselves and each other in their family’s folklore.
The role Kaeridwyn has recently landed that she is most excited about is mother to her six-month-old daughter, the most challenging and fulfilling work yet.
